History |
In 1962 Jon & Lowell Latcham purchased two small hand printing presses. Jon, a ninth grader in Jr. H.S., became the typesetter and Lowell, Manager of the White Bear Lake American Legion Club, headed the sales. The state of MN issued a sales and use tax permit #3178402 to the newly formed J & L Printing Co.
As the small family business grew, so did the ranks of its employees. In 1970 Jon & Bobbie were married, and were blessed with two children Karrie and Jon (Jay) during the next 3 years. The company was growing fast in more ways than one!
The combination of Lowell's retirement and the onset of the gaming industry during the late 70's was the turning point for the family business. When the State of MN decided to regulate the gaming industry in 1984, our printing company restructured and became 3 Diamond Corporation.
The state granted 3 Diamond Corporation a distributor license (#0017) for gaming products which quickly accounted for the majority of our business. By 1999 3 Diamond Corporation with 19 employees had become one of the largest distributors of gaming products in MN with warehouses in Shoreview and Winona. On July 1st 2003, Jon promoted his son Jay to President, Glen Kuhlman to Vice President and daughter Karrie to treasurer assuring the company's future for the next generation.
